Welcome Drinks

We’re kicking off the weekend with welcome drinks on Friday, 24th July 2026, at the King’s Head Hotel rooftop terrace from 5:00 p.m. until late.

Join us for complimentary drinks early in the evening — make sure to arrive on time to enjoy them! In addition, there will be a menu at the bar for you to purchase your own food and drinks as the night continues.

Wedding Venue

We’re so excited to celebrate our wedding at Old Gore Barn, a beautiful barn set amidst the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. Its rustic charm and breathtaking countryside views make it the perfect backdrop for our special day. We can’t wait to share this magical place with all of you.

Wedding Day Transportation

Ceremony Transportation
Complimentary transport will be provided from the King’s Head Hotel to our wedding venue, Old Gore. The bus will depart promptly at 12:30 p.m., so please arrive at the hotel by 12:20 p.m. to ensure a timely departure.

Return Transportation
A complimentary shuttle service will run from Old Gore back to the King’s Head Hotel starting at 9:00 p.m., with the final bus departing at midnight.

If you wish to leave earlier or prefer to make your own arrangements, please note that Uber and other ride-share services do not operate in this area, so any taxis must be pre-booked in advance. A list of recommended cab companies can be found below.

Dress Code

Formal Garden Party Attire
Our celebration will take place in a beautiful garden setting, so we kindly ask guests to embrace elegant, seasonal style with a touch of sophistication.

For Women:
Midi or maxi length dresses, jumpsuits and suits are welcome. Light, breathable fabrics are recommended for the warm weather. Dressy flats or heels are ideal, please be mindful that parts of the venue are on grass. We kindly ask that guests refrain from wearing white or ivory dresses.

For Men:
A lightweight suit or tailored trousers paired with a blazer and collared shirt is perfect. Ties are optional but add a smart finishing touch. Lighter fabrics and colours are encouraged for the warm weather.

Additional Notes:
Fascinators are welcome to complement the occasion but are completely optional. We ask guests to avoid casual attire such as jeans, shorts, or trainers.

Stay

We recommend staying in the market town of Cirencester. We will be arranging complimentary transport to and from the Kings Head Hotel. We have block-booked some rooms at the Kings Head Hotel, on a first come first serve basis, please reach out to us for more details if you are interested.

    Known as the gateway to the Cotswolds, Cheltenham is a spa town with many shops and restaurants.

  • Bourton-on-the-Water

    Known for its low bridges and traditional stone houses, Bourton-on-the-Water is one of the most picturesque villages in the Cotswolds.

  • Upper Slaughter + Lower Slaughter

    Nearby to Bourton-on-the-Water, there are the quiet and romantic villages of the Slaughters, picturesque and tranquil.

  • Stow-on-the-Wold

    A market town placed on the top of an 800ft hill at the junction of all the main roads to the Cotswolds.

FAQs

  • The ceremony and reception will be held at the Old Gore Barn, Fosse cross, Cirencester GL54 4BZ. The ceremony will begin at 1:30 pm and the reception will begin at 2:30 pm.

  • Please RSVP by the 25th of April, 2026 at the very latest. If you know your plans already, we really appreciate all early RSVPs.

  • Please RSVP ‘no’ as soon as you know you are unable to make the day.

  • Parking is available on-site and is free for all guests.

  • Your love and presence mean the world to us. We are not asking for physical gifts, but if you’d like to help us celebrate with a contribution to our honeymoon fund, you’ll find details on the ‘Wishing Well’ tab. We will also have a physical letterbox at the venue on the wedding day.

  • If you would like to bring a plus-one please email us at maxandmiawedding@gmail.com if we have not already offered one. Due to limitations of our wedding venue we can’t accommodate everyone but we will try our best.

  • We kindly request that our wedding be an adults-only celebration. We hope you enjoy a well-deserved evening off to relax and celebrate with us.

    • For our international guests: We recommend flying into London Heathrow airport (LHR). There is a National Express bus that will take you directly from the airport to Cirencester. Please see their website for booking and costs: https://www.nationalexpress.com/en (you can only book 4 months in advance)

    • Travelling from London: We recommend taking the National Express bus from London Victoria to Cirencester (use the above link for booking)

    • Travelling by train: The closest train station to Cirencester is Kemble. Please be mindful that a local bus or private cab will need to be arranged for transport into the town

  • Yes, we recommend parking in the Waterloo carpark. This carpark can be used for long stay and payment can be done via the Pay by Phone app on your smartphone.

  • Both! The ceremony and wedding meal will take place indoors, while the drinks reception and more will be outdoors. There will be covered options for outside in the case of bad weather.

  • Whilst the UK likes to keep us on our toes with the weather…

    We expect a warm sunny day with temperatures from 25 - 30 degrees celsius (based on the last couple years). If the weather does turn, we will move the party indoors.

  • Plenty of drinks will be available throughout the day, and after the wedding meal, we will be providing an open bar serving beer, wine, and soft drinks, up to a set limit. Any additional drinks beyond this can be purchased at the bar.
